Let me start this Blog journey by saying hello and welcoming you to Mel Roby Photography Blog. I have had blogs in the past but always took the easy way out of blogging to write on Facebook instead.
But today is a new day with a new business name so I plan on making this a habit. Like all habits, I have heard in the past it takes 28 days to start or break a habit. So let’s get this habit started.
My goal for this blog is to give you sneak peaks behind my lens and give you some insight to my creative thoughts and I even welcome your feed back.
I am excited to see what 2010 has in store for Mel Roby Photography. So far it has been a true adventure. Earlier in the year I decided to change the name of the business from Camera Bliss Photography to Mel Roby Photography. Why? Well first no one was remembering the business name just my name. LOL! and two because I am going to be at some of your most intimate moments and I want you (the client) to get to know me not as a business but with a familiarity that will make you feel more comfortable so you will let your hair down and be the beautiful person that you are!
I am located in Jacksonville, Florida less than 5 minutes from the beach. I am a natural light photographer and I prefer shooting outdoors in our beautiful surrounds instead of studio. However if that is what you envision I can get my studio set for your shoot to get that desired look you need.
A little about me: First off I love, love, love, love art! To me art can be found in anything. Well there may be a few exceptions but for the most part. I love looking for the art in all things. I graduated with a degree in Advertising and Photography at the University of North Florida. I have been shooting professionally for the past 3 years and boy have I learned a lot. I am excited to see how my work is constantly evolving and being influenced by the master photographers and even painters I have studied. Some of my likes are as followed
: the beach (I am so lucky to be 5 whapping minutes away from), St. Augustine (my heart belongs there), my dog (100 lb. Shepard that is my right hand lady), my husband (for all his support), Paris (I am obsessed with anything French), and life ( I truly want to live it to the fullest).
I look forward to this Blog journey and look forward to growing with you. Be sure to check back regularly for my updates or to get on to me about not updating which I hope is something I don’t slip into.
Until the next blog here is a thought to ponder:
” A great man shows his greatness by the way he treats little men.”
